AT NATIONAL DEFENCE ACADEMY MESS A TABLE KEPT FOR 45 YEARS FOR WHO DID NOT RETURN

In this world some amazing traditions catch everybody’s attention and are spoken by many all over. One such tradition is a mess table being kept empty for army people who did not return back.

It must be noted that in the 1971 India – Pakistan was many soldiers died while others lived. There are few who did not return. To honour those army men who did not turn back a table has seen kept at the mess of National Defence academy which is Asias biggest mess.

An amazing placard on the table symbolizes weakness of a prisoner against the oppressors. A single rose in flower vase is displayed on the table and shows the families and loved ones of comrades – in – arms. Special mention must be made on the unlit. Candle that shows the upward reach of the soldier’s spirit.

The bitter fate is represented by the slice of lemon on the bread plate. Salton the bread plate shows families tears inverted and chair is empty indicates soldiers are not here. It must be noted that these brave 54 who played great role in the war would never be forgotten.
