WOMEN SPECIAL ENTRY SCHEME 

Indian Army

UPSC Entry: Women candidates of age 19 to 25 years (as per notified in the advertisement) can apply for this entry. They have to clear an exam held by UPSC which is held twice in a year. Successful candidates of written exam are called for the SSB interview. To apply for this entry, a Graduate/Post Graduation in any discipline from a recognized university is required.

NCC Special entryThis entry is only for NCC women cadets who have 2 years’ service in NCC senior division army and have minimum B grade in C certificate exam. Women cadets of age 19 to 25 years (as per notified in the advertisement) can apply for it.  Vacancies per course are notified by additional directorate general recruiting. Final year student /graduate with 50% aggregate are eligible for this entry.

SSC-Technical EntryWomen engineering students of age 20 to 27 years (as per notified in the advertisement) are eligible for this entry. They can apply for it while in final year or after completing their degree. A graduate in any discipline of engineering (as per notified in the advertisement) is eligible to apply for it.

JAG entryThis entry is especially for the law graduates. The age required for this entry is 21 to 27 years which is notified along with the vacancies by additional directorate general recruiting in the month of April or October. To be eligible for this entry, a candidate must be having a graduate degree of LLB/LLM with minimum 55% aggregate and the candidate should be registered with Bar Council of India or state.


Indian Air Force

AFCAT Entries:  Female candidates who want to fly high in the sky or dream to be an Air Warrior of IAF then they have to clear an exam named AFCAT. AFCAT stands for Air Force Common Admission Test. It is held twice in a year. It is a written exam and those who qualify in this exam are called for SSB interview. 

You can opt for the following branches by AFCAT exam:
Ø  Flying branch: Women candidates of age 19 to 23 years (as per notified in the advertisement) can opt for flying branch. Female candidates have the opportunity to fly transport aircrafts or helicopters but they are not eligible for fighter aircrafts. To apply for this entry, a candidate should be having a Graduate degree in any discipline from a recognized university with aggregate of 60% marks and have passed Math and Physics at 10+2 level OR B.E/B.Tech degree from a recognized university with aggregate of minimum 60% marks.
Ø  Technical Branch: Female engineering candidates of age 18 to 28 years can opt for technical branch. There are two types of technical service whose educational qualification conditions are given below:
Ø  Aeronautical Engineer (Mechanical): Minimum four year degree course from a recognized university with aggregate of minimum 60% marks and qualification in at least eight subjects out of eighteen as per notified in the advertisement OR cleared Section A and B exam of Associate membership of Institution of engineers or Aeronautical society of India in regular courses.
Ø  Aeronautical Engineer (Electrical): Minimum year degree course from a recognized university with aggregate of minimum 60% marks and qualification in at least eight subjects as per notified in the advertisement OR cleared Section A and B exam of Associate membership of Institution of engineers or Aeronautical society of India or graduate membership exam of the Institute of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers in regular courses.
Ø  Ground Duty Branches: Those who want to opt for the ground duty branches, the age requirements are different. For graduates: 20 to 23 years, Post Graduates: 20 to 25 years, LLB: 20 to 26 years, M.Ed/ PhD/ CA: 20 to 27 years.  There are three types of services in Ground Duty Branches whose educational qualification conditions are given below:
Ø  Administration and Logistics: Graduate in any discipline from a recognized university with aggregate of 60% marks OR a Post Graduate degree/ diploma in any discipline from a recognized university with aggregate of minimum 60% marks.
Ø  Education: Post Graduate degree in any discipline with aggregate of minimum 50% marks
Ø  Accounts: Graduate degree in any commerce with aggregate of minimum 60% marks OR a Post Graduate degree/ diploma in Commerce (M Com) / CA / ICWA with aggregate of minimum 50% marks.

Non-AFCAT Entry
o    Meteorology Branch: In this entry, candidates are short-listed and called for SSB interviews at Air Force Selection Board’s. Age group in this entry is 20 to 25 years and  27 years for PhD candidates. To be eligible for this entry candidates must be having a Post graduate degree in any science stream / Maths / Statistics / Geography / CS / EVS / Physics / Geo-physics etc. with minimum 50% aggregate and have scores 55% marks both in Maths and Physics at graduation level. Final year students can also apply for it.
  


Indian Navy

Executive branch
Ø  SSC- Air Traffic ControllerWomen candidates of age 19 ½ to 25 years are eligible for this entry. They can apply for this entry if they have completed their graduation in any science stream i.e. Physics/Maths/Electronics OR M.Sc with Maths / Physics /Electronics.

Ø  SSC- ObserverWomen candidates of age 19 to 23 years can apply for this entry. For applying in this entry, women candidates need to have a graduate degree in any discipline with minimum 55% marks with Maths and Physics at 10+2 level.
Ø  SC- LawThis entry is for female Law candidates whose age is between 22 to 27 years as per notified in the advertisement. To be eligible for this entry a candidates should carry a graduate degree in LAW with minimum 55% marks.
Ø  SSC- LogisticsWomen candidates who hold B.E/B.Tech in Computers, IT, Architecture, Civil, Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, Marine engineering OR graduate with PG diploma in material management are eligible for this entry. The age group is 19 ½ to 25 years as per notified in the advertisement.

Engineering branch
Ø  UES SSC  (Naval Architecture)Women engineers carrying the B.E/B.Tech degree in naval architecture / Mechanical / Civil / Aeronautical / Metallurgical / Aerospace engineering with 60% marks can apply for it. The age group for this entry is 19 to 25 years as per notified in the advertisement.
Ø  SSC Naval ArchitectureWomen engineers within the age group of 21 to 25 years as per notified in the advertisement and having B.E/B.Tech degree in Naval architecture / Mechanical / Civil / Aeronautical / Metallurgical / Aerospace engineering with 60% marks can apply for it.
Ø  Education BranchWomen candidates of age 21 to 25 years are eligible for this entry if they have passed B.E/B.Tech in Computer Science, IT, Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical OR M.Sc in Physics / Maths / Computer application with at least 50% marks.

The Thematic Apperception test (TAT), Picture Perception and Description Test - SSB Interview

How to write TAT or PPDT Stories SSB consists of three techniques, Psyche, GTO and the Interview one. Tests differ but the technique is the same and the technique is looking for suitability. Means possession! Projection and rating, ranking and grading of OLQs of the optimum satisfaction of the “Assessors” I will show you one of picture and would like to make up a story on the picture. The story should be as dramatic and imaginative as possible. Tell me what is happening in this picture?, what led up to it? And what will the outcome be? Describe as fully as you can, the thoughts, feeling, action and emotions of the character but please do not describe the picture as you are required to write a story with the blank card. The subject is asked (Subject here, would mean the candidate) to imagine and write a story about it.
